Duncan has been a horseman for most of his life. He builds saddles to hold up to as hard as you want to use them while fitting horses well. When you can ride all day and not feel as though the saddle is where you have been allowing you to enjoy the ride.
We can use your prefered tree or utilize the tree that Duncan has perfected for ridability and horse fit. Duncan devotes time to dialing in the ground seat of the saddle to give it the best possible fit. The seat he creates fits most people very well but you also have the opportunity to come t the shop, sit in the ground seat while it is being built so that your saddle feels like home to you!
Customizing your saddle
Saddle Tree
Choose your saddle tree to best fit what your favorite horseback activity is. Whether it be a Sharon Camarillo for barrel racing, the traditional Association tree with hard swells, or the tree that Duncan himself has developed. Duncan rides his saddles on a variety of different horses through his training of outside horses to the sport horses that him and is wife raise in Montana. His tree is based off of a slick forked wade tree with a post horn, deep seat and Arizona bars which fit a variety of shapes of horses comortably. We get our saddle trees from Bowden Saddle Trees out of Texas for the majority of our saddles. The ones that we have had exposed hardwood forks have been cusom made by Dusty Smith of Wyoming.
The Look of your saddle
After you choose your tree, then you get to decide how you want the saddle to look. Whether you would like a simple rough out saddle or a fully carved completely customized work of art, we can make your saddle reflect your taste. Duncan has become skilled at Sheridan style carving giving a nice flow to the carving of the saddle. We can also incorporate classic basket stamping or maybe your favorite flower. Duncan always hides a flower that was at his wedding in his wife's saddles.
